The Southern City BMX Club board has voted unanimously to postpone the highly anticipated Clash 4 Cash (C4C) event scheduled for 2024. This decision was made after careful consideration of several factors that have impacted the club's ability to host the event this year.
Key Factors Influencing the Postponement:
Recent Wet Weather: The club's new location has experienced significant rainfall, leading to concerns about the site's ability to withstand a two-day event. The recent earthworks to build the new BMX facility have left the surrounding spectator areas vulnerable to becoming boggy quickly. While the track itself is in excellent condition and could handle the event, the surrounding areas would not. As the ground settles, this issue will begin to disappear over the coming years, but it has limited our ability to make an enjoyable event for everyone.
Prioritising Other Initiatives: With the recent move to our new location, the club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held later than usual this year. With a change in board members and the club handling a high volume of new member enquiries and come-and-try days, the event has not progressed as far in organisation as the club would like. Rather than putting together an underperforming event, the board believes it's in everyone's best interest to refocus and postpone the event at this time.
Looking Ahead to 2025:
Despite the postponement, the Southern City BMX Club is committed to bringing the Clash 4 Cash event back in the first quarter of 2025. We are confident that this extra time will allow us to address the current issues and deliver an event that exceeds expectations.
We appreciate the support and understanding of our members, participants, and the BMX community. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for a bigger and better C4C event in 2025. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements.
