date change for the Clash 4 Cash

Southern City BMX Club is excited to announce a date change for the upcoming Southern City CLASH 4 CA$H BMX event. This pivotal event has been rescheduled to Sunday, September 7th, 2025, at the Pembroke Park BMX Track in Sorell. The new date places CLASH 4 CA$H the day after Round 6 of the Tasmanian BMX State Series, effectively creating a full weekend of track time for riders. This back-to-back scheduling is set to deliver an action-packed weekend of racing and comes at the perfect time – just two weeks before the State Titles on September 20th.

A Full Weekend of Racing at Pembroke Park

By moving CLASH 4 CA$H to September 7th, the event now teams up with Round 6 of the 2025 AusCycling BMX Tasmania State Series on Saturday, September 6th.

Pembroke Park BMX Track will host two major race days in a row: Saturday’s State Series round, followed by Sunday’s Clash 4 Cash showdown. For riders, this means double the race experience in one trip. You’ll get to dial in the track on Saturday during the State Series competition, then come back the very next day to push your limits in the Clash 4 Cash event. This continuous exposure to the same track under race conditions is invaluable – riders can immediately apply lessons learned from Day 1 to Day 2, making adjustments and refining their approach. It’s a rare opportunity to have consecutive days of competitive racing on the same course, and it promises to be a thrilling weekend for athletes and spectators alike.

Why This Weekend is Ideal for Riders

  • Maximum Track Time: Back-to-back race days mean more laps and more chances to practice starts, berms, and jumps. Riders will accumulate extensive track time over the weekend, helping build confidence and familiarity with Pembroke Park’s course features.

  • High-Caliber Competition: With two significant events in one weekend, expect a strong turnout of competitors. Top riders from around the state (and even interstate) are likely to attend, drawn by the convenience of a double-header. The Clash 4 Cash event is known to attract around 120 riders in past years, making it one of the “must-attend” races in Tasmania’s BMX calendar. This means riders can gauge their skills against some of the best, all within a single weekend.

  • Convenience for Travelers: For those traveling to Sorell, this schedule is a bonus – one trip, two races. Instead of making separate journeys for the State Series and the Clash 4 Cash, riders can save time and resources by hitting both events in one go. It’s a full weekend festival of BMX racing that maximises value for out-of-town competitors.

The Perfect Tune-Up for the State Titles

Perhaps the greatest advantage of this date change is how it sets riders up for success at the upcoming State Titles. The Tasmanian BMX State Championships (“State Titles”) will be held on September 20th – also at Pembroke Park in Sorell. This means the back-to-back races on Sept 6-7 serve as ideal preparation on the very same track that riders will face at the State Championships in two weeks’ time.

Competitive riders aiming for glory at the State Titles couldn’t ask for better timing. By racing in Round 6 and CLASH 4 CA$H, you’ll have the chance to fine-tune your performance under real race pressure well before the championship event. Test out your bike setup, try different lines through the berms, and sharpen your start technique now, so that on September 20th you’ll be ready to deliver your peak performance. Coaches often stress the value of race-readiness – there’s no substitute for actual racing when it comes to preparation. This double-header weekend allows you to simulate the intensity of championship racing, identify any areas for improvement, and gain confidence. Essentially, it’s a dress rehearsal for the State Titles, giving you a competitive edge when the big day arrives.

The schedule spacing is also beneficial. With a two-week gap after the double race weekend, riders will have time to rest, recover, and make any final adjustments in training. You can come off the September 6-7 weekend with a clear idea of what to work on, use the following days to polish those aspects, and then head into the State Championships in top form. In short, the new date for CLASH 4 CA$H transforms it into the perfect final tune-up opportunity for every rider with State Title ambitions.
